Death on the mountain (the beacon of light has been put out)
Christine Stedtner, aged 88 passed away on January 3. It's sad when death is close to your doorsteps, Christine lived diagonally across from our house, a very nice lady. I used to catch a glimpse of her whenever she was outside throwing food particles for the birds and the squirrels.
My heart goes out to her sisters Audrey and Joice, all of them living adjacent to Christine.
Such a sadness when faced with death.
Christine's lights on the porch would always be lit up. It brighten up the street and always made me feel safe. Many a night Ken and I would get out of the car on arriving home and there was Christine's light shinning bright, welcoming us home, lighting our pathway.
Last night while driving up the mountain road, it was dark and dreary, it hit me immediately, the light on the porch was not lit. The street was pitch black, it felt cold and lonely.
Last night, I get out of my car, look across the street to her house, the beacon of light is not shinning anymore, my heart is filled with sadness for the family and loved ones of Christine. I walk up the pathway in darkness.
Thank you Christine, rest in peace dear lady. We will miss your thoughtfulness dearly.
