A season for sowing

Checked  the results of the winter sowing project which was started late January 2022, there are signs of germination in some of the bottles, a few bottles have green moss on the surface and the rest of the bottles have no sign of growth.

I’m a little elated with the results, and will start the winter sowing  process in March for future reference. Will slowly start to repot the seedlings once the weather warms up.

The rose bush has been planted in the backyard. It was time, the shoots were growing profusely in the container.

Have also planted all the tulip and hyacinth bulbs in the front yard. The plan is to expand the area for more blooms. Tomorrow the white gate edging will be erected, it will enhance the flower garden and prevent the wild life from eating the shrubs and blooms.

As I sit on the porch for the first time in May, I can hear the hummingbird buzzing happily while sipping on the sugar water in the feeder. My heart is filled with joy hearing the hummingbirds.

When  digging the soil this morning, I did think of her. I do miss her. Looking at the daffodils in bloom reminds me of the day, three years ago when we planted the bulbs with a prayer and hope that the bulbs would germinate. Well this is year three and it has finally bloomed. It was bitter sweet looking at the blooms in the early hours of  one spring day in May. Yes whenever my eye catches the blooms I am reminded of you.

Lots of things in my garden and around the house reminds me of you, my dear friend. Life goes on, we move on and the memories turn to treasures which we hold so dearly in our heart.
